Grasshopper Days
For today, Monday, August 5, 2013.
Outside my window... warm and breezy... perfect :D
Hearing... the washer just finished (second load), and the boys are doing dishes.
Pondering... how good it is to have all three boys home again.
Praying... urgently for work for Kerry.
Thankful... Wyatt had such a wonderful experience at Desert Eagle Flight Academy (a Civil Air Patrol flight school).
Wearing... Hawaiian (flowered) shorts and a tank top.
Creating... a "battle plan".
Going... to enjoy a very low-key week... I hope!
Looking forward to... spending a couple of afternoons at the lake this week?
In the learning rooms... *crickets*
Around the house... the debris of a weekend road-trip in various stages of being put away.
The Mother Load... some home-school prep (scheduling and reviewing what supplies we'll need for science experiments), a quilt top to finish (languishing in this beautiful weather), pictures to sort and print/frame, some flowers need moving/dividing, a sink to unclog, two bathrooms to clean, and ???
Noticing that... the bunnies are opening their eyes!
Something to remember for later... the very dramatic thunderheads we saw over the Cascades last night on our way home. I was driving (and not taking pics) so I found this one online... and YES it looked like this but more so!
Except for the part when we were right under it and it was raining so hard we could only go 30 mph because we couldn't see anything and the water couldn't run off the road fast enough. The rain drops were so big you could see them coming like missiles. Amazing.
Something fun to share...
This is the plane Wyatt has been flying all week - a Cessna 150, I think (two-seater). Yep, I'm proud of him. His instructor had lots of good things to say and gave Wyatt an award for being the most consistent (powered flight student) - said he was the most mechanical (I think they also learned some repair/maintenance, but I'm told not to worry about any of that.)
One of my favorite things... seeing my boys mature and expand.
A Bible verse...
All your sons will be taught by the Lord,
and great will be your children's peace.
Isaiah 54:13
A few plans for the rest of the week... to keep the calendar as open as possible! Hang out with my boys... go to the lake... do some chores around the house.
A peek into my world... Kerry was out in the San Juan Islands recently at a (potential?) job site, and grabbed these stills from his video camera.
Looking back east toward Mt. Baker...
... and a couple of ferries going by.

Sounds like a great week of celebrating summer with the family!
It is so cool to see Wyatt with "his" plane! What a great experience for him! We have a small local air museum and they have a flight simulator. Matt had a great time "flying' over our county with the simulator - I could see him getting involved with a CAP program when he is older.
