A Simple Nine-Patch

We have a new-ish family at the chapel.  They have a couple kids (elementary age, I guess, but I'm bad at guessing).  And a baby due any day!

I heard it's going to be a boy.  But either way... I mean, I'm a girl.  Blue is my favorite color!

I had a lot of fun aqua scraps left over from my Changes In Latitude quilt...

... and I always have blues on hand :D

And it was pretty easy to throw this simple nine-patch quilt together, with a bit of variety in the background to make it more interesting, and very simple quilting to keep it soft and cuddly.

And a stripey binding, because I'm really starting to love a stripey binding.

A soft blue flannel backing makes it just right :D

It does look soft and cuddly. What batting did you use? I am partial to striped bindings too, but lately using up my stash is my focus....don't have lots of stripes.

Thank you, grammajudyb :D I usually use Warm and Natural or Warm and White, all cotton batting, but this time had been given leftover Hobbes 80-20 so I used that. I think I prefer the Warm and Natural/White, but the Hobbes worked fine :D
