Grasshopper Days
Outside my window... some very happy robins. At least, they always sound happy, don't you think? The sun is shining and we've been chasing deer out of the yard. They LOVE our bird feeders, and will empty them immediately. *sigh*
Hearing... birds and silence. Everyone is working or playing quietly :D (That, and my ears are plugged up due to a cold. Who knows? Maybe there's a LOT going on I don't know about!)
Pondering... need to make a job list for SUMMER! I plan to make use of the minions (insert evil laugh.)
Praying... And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, so that you may be able to discern what it best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ Philippians 1:9-10
Thankful... I seem to be on the upswing from an unpleasant cold, the sun is shining, and Kerry has work to do.
Wearing... capris and a T-shirt (no sweater!)
Creating... plans, at this point.
Going... to sit in the Sun Chair and get my Vitamin D. Doctor's orders, y'know? ;D
Reading... a biography of David Livingstone with the boys, and then to finish The Hobbit.
Looking forward to... a break from school :D
In the kitchen... I've been wanting to make spicy (but not too spicy) pulled pork sandwiches and have some friends over, but feel like I need to wait until I'm not Typhoid Mary. Maybe later this week? For today... probably chicken. I have some nice salmon in the freezer, but I don't like to cook fish in the house if I can help it. BBQ soon?
In the learning rooms... winding down, and it feels GREAT! We'll be puttering along until next week, but we keep finishing things, so our days get shorter :D
Around the house... Note to Kerry: Please don't eat blueberry-mango ice cream in the living room. Good thing it was your leather chair. Gunnar came to me embarrassed and confused, with gray sweatpants and white underwear with purple stains on the backside. Let me just confirm that it's been YEARS since he's had any kind of "accident". No, I found blueberries in the chair where he'd been sitting. Where Kerry sat and ate ice cream last night. So, around the house? A little cleaning to do :D
The Mother Load... I feel like Santa, you know... making a list, checking it twice... I'm making a summer job list - woo-hoo! All kinds of fun things to share with the boys. Things like deep-cleaning the van, putting in and maintaining a garden (soon to be deer-proof), cleaning out the dryer vent (loooooong overdue), planting some grass in the dead spot where the trampoline had been, etc. Fun times :D My more immediate job is to price things for the Homeschool Recycle Sale next Saturday.
Noticing that... a tidy office makes a HUGE difference to my state of mind. (And conversely...)
A favorite quote for today... It's better to keep your mouth shut and appear stupid than open it and remove all doubt. - Mark Twain
One of my favorite things... a clean desk top.
A few plans for the rest of the week... making up the appointments (of Wyatt's) that I spaced out last week - oops. Some of the boys might get to be victims again, but looks like Wyatt will be at work. CAP has an Aerospace Fun Night (overnight) on Friday, which the boys look forward to all year, and then their carwash/fundraiser on Saturday. And don't forget - Friday is National Doughnut Day!
A peek into my world...

Glad you had some sunshine too!
Today it's raining again -- so I'm hoping for the silver lining of Tim having time for house projects ;-)
Totally agree with the tidy office/state of mind statement (and, unfortunately, its inverse)!
