Grasshopper Days
Outside my window... a cool day is what were hoping for!
I am hearing... the house is way, way too quiet with two boys away.
I am thinking... organizing my time and my projects for the week.
I am praying... especially for Wyatt and Tate, that they persevere and enjoy encampment week.
I am thankful... my little niece is thriving, mom is slowly-but-surely healing from her surgery (knee replacement), and no news is good news from boot camp ;D
I am creating... working on school planning (!) and sewing gifts I can't yet mention.
I am going... to the fair today!
I am reading... hmmm, stuff for school.
I am wondering... what Wyatt and Tate are doing today.
I am looking forward to... the boys' Pass-In-Review graduation ceremony on Friday.
In the kitchen... it is WEIRD cooking for just three of us.
In the learning rooms... getting ready to get back in the groove. I've been going through some new (borrowed - thanks Colleen!) Sonlight curriculum - going to be studying the Eastern Hemisphere this year and looking forward to it :D
Around the house... we've been outside a LOT and neglecting the inside. But I'm LOVING having my "birthday quilt" (got most of the fabric as a birthday gift) out, though it's more decorative than functional with this weather!
The Mother Load... I have a goal of completing some sewing projects, but the temps are supposed to rise later in the week, and the last thing I want to do is have a bunch of fabric piled on my lap in a hot room! We'll see. I may decide it's more important to go to the lake ;D
Something I want to remember for later... all the phrases Gunnar likes to use. But can I think of one right now? No.

A few plans for the rest of the week... well, the Fair today. School planning and projects, probably. Visits to the lake, if possible. Picking up the boys on Friday. Props and Ponies, Saturday. And Kerry's b'day, Sunday.

I find it ironic that we're the ones with the nice weather now! It was almost too cool to swim yesterday - and the water was frigid!!! A nearby t-storm forced us to leave after 20 minutes, but I'm not sure we would have lasted much longer than that anyway.
Praying for you and for your boys this week. I'm sure Gunnar misses them too!
Your Galileo quote is directly from a poem published in 1936 by American poet Sarah Williams. The name of the poem is "The Old Astronomer to His Pupil." It is also used as an epitaph (taken from the poem) on the tomb of American astronomers John and Phoebe Brashear in Pittsburgh, PA. Some claim that the "I have loved the stars too fondly..." line was a Galileo quote, but the attribution is sketchy at best.

We had that heat wave when we visited California - the area where my parents live is generally very cool (60's in the summer) but it was in the 80's during our visit! They live near the beach, however, so the warm weather was wonderful.
Exciting studies this year - will the boys get to make fireworks while studying the Eastern hemisphere? :)
