For Today... June 1, 2010
Outside my window... cloudy skies, cool damp smells from last night's rain, the last of the dogwood blossoms on the tree, and on the driveway, and stuck all over the van.
I am thinking... about Cutzi's most recent post, and how much we worry and fret, and why can't I just manage Matt. 6:33? Seeking first, not also.
I am thankful for... a mostly relaxing long weekend, the sickness that wasn't, and getting a little project done for next month's (I mean THIS month's) round of birthdays.
I am praying for... work.
I am wearing... green jeans. Blue t-shirt. White socks.
I am creating... little birthday projects.
I am going... very, very slowly this morning. Where is my energy?
I am reading... All Creatures Great and Small, still. The boys are loving it. Especially the bits about Tricky Woo. And Nugent.
I am hoping... that the boys will get back in the school groove... after four days off.
I am hearing... the boys, out in the driveway, doing something with Tate's model of the Alamo.
I am remembering... what I forgot! Oops! To get the flag up this weekend. Shame on me!
From the learning rooms... the Waitangi Treaty, squares, dividing by decimals, tessellations, permutations, Thomas Hart Benton, and thank-you notes.
From the kitchen... hmmm. Must think of something. Probably chicken.
Around the house... I cleaned and moved furniture this weekend. Love doing that. Almost feels like a new house.
On my mind... coming down the homestretch. Woo-hoo!
Noticing that... the years go by faster and faster. *sigh*
Pondering these words... Some temptations come to the industrious, but all temptations attack the idle. Charles Spurgeon
One of my favorite things... warm, undercooked brownies.
A few plans for the rest of the week... my goal for today is to remember that it is TUESDAY and not Monday.
We're going to be wrapping up most of our school-work this week. Hurray!
Here is a picture I am sharing...
An oldie, but a goodie, because it always melts my heart.

Thank you so much for your comment on my post. Somehow, it helps to know I know I am not alone in my feelings - that God didn't just make me weird or something. Wish I had some more clarity - but when I do, I'll be sure and share.
I'm thinking a camping trip in September with friends might be helpful. ;-)
That boy's so cute! I love that photo! We're also winding down with school, though not for the end of the year, just the end of the term.
Enjoy all the creative things you're doing..
Matt 6:33 FIRST and not ALSO. OH - thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing that. I needed that slap, personally. Love your photo - would melt my heart too!
Awwww, what a blue blue eyed sweetie!
Can the kids and I join you for school this week? I don't seem to recall ever learning tessellations and permutations.
I think I'm going to have to practice my memorization skills on Matt. 6:33!
Happy Tuesday!
Deborah
Now that is what I call a FULL SERVICE post! It's a wake up call, a reminder to be busy at home, an encouragement and a sweet picture. Wow, way to go! Always enjoy your posts...thanks for sharing your wisdom with us. Matt 6:33 was our memory verse for school about 2 weeks ago ;) Enjoy the last of the school year!
Blessings,
Kristy
