Dear Julie! I will pray for you. I can understand your fears even though I haven't had my tonsils out. I've been put under for other reasons. Lord willing, never again.
Uh, yeah! I got the side effects. A very sudden "tossing of the cookies"! No nausea. Just the serious and immediate urge to throw up. Not fun then, but I laugh about it now.
I had Percocet after having my third child, by an unplanned C-section. I don't know if it was the meds or not, but I felt really... JANGLY. Of course, coming home to three boys under the age of FIVE may have had a lot to do with that too! I could hardly stand to have the boys around me with their constant chatter and normal kid noise.
I got onto Tylenol/Vicodin as quickly as I could.
This doc says he is giving me FIVE different meds... Prednisone (for swelling) Antibiotic Percocet Vicodin (so I can see what works for me... not double them up!) and an anti-nausea med.
Oh, wow! Prayers being said for you! For a very fast recovery and a smooth procedure. I've had percoset, but luckily never had the negative side effects from it!

PS. Pergacet painkillers? Just say no! :-)
Thanks, Deborah :0)
I've never been "under" either. It's the recovery I'm REALLY not looking forward to. Ugh!
But, I tell myself, by Thanksgiving (American thanksgiving is late in November, ya know :0)), I'll be feeling MUCH better!
What happened with the Percoset?
I'll be praying for you Julie! Gee it's hard when "mom" is out of commission for even a couple of days! I'll be praying for a swift recovery!
Percoset... bring them on! grin. I couldn't have survived my own surgery w/o them. (But for some there are terrible side effects)

Oh... roger that. Yuck.

Well see if I can get them DOWN!
