I Know It's Spring Because...

Tate brought this home...

... and put it in an aquarium by the back door.

From which it has already escaped.

My desire to weed the flower beds just took a dramatic drop.

BTW, it's a common garter snake.  Not dangerous, just...

... EWWWWW.

Hahahaha!

I'm laughing because the snake is in YOUR flowerbed, not mine. If it was in my flowerbed, the reaction would be more along the lines of,

"AAAAHHHHHHH!"

At least boys keep life interesting!

Are you serious? Is this a picture of the actual snake?? It's huge. I'm not necessarily afraid of snakes but I don't think I would like that hanging out by my back door.

Oh no, it's not big. But creepy, nonetheless. And also no, not the actual snake. I had to google a pic of the same kind, because it escaped before I could get a pic.

Ew.

Ack! What kind is it?

I suggest you have Tate sharpen your hoe and stand guard with it OR weed the flowers for you.

Thank you for the sweet dreams :o

My garden would just have to die.

I'd be going around the garden with a big stick!! Just in case. I'm glad we don't find things like that round here too often, cos I'm sure my boys would want to bring it home too!

Okay at the risk of freaking you out, I will actually pick up a garter snake to show my kids. Do I love 'em? No, but there's nothing like seeing the real thing to learn about them. Yep! I'm a scary mom :o)!

Blessings!

Ewwww is right! and Ahhhh! I'm shivering at just the thought of it, although I think I may dislike spiders even more. Now that we've moved to the country, I'm scared I'm going to see more of both! For the love of boys!
