Simple Woman #63

Simple Woman

For Today...  June 7, 2001

Outside my window...   Gunnar holding Podger (the rabbit), Wyatt skateboarding, and Tate is probably looking for more creatures.

I am thinking...  obsessing about a quilt design, planning out the rest of the week - testing.

I am thankful for...   the slower pace this week, a nice time with our company yesterday, and healthy boys.

I am praying for...  eyes to see and ears to hear.

I am wearing...  oh stop.  Jeans.  A t-shirt.

I am creating...  a Christmas quilt.  Once I get through the obsessing.

I am going...  our last Moms In Touch today, errands tomorrow, and not much on the horizon this week.

I am reading...  quilt pattern books.

I am hoping...  I'm so not worried about our testing, and hoping Gunnar picks up that attitude.  It's his first time and I really don't want him to stress about it.

I am hearing...  Wyatt's skateboard rolling around the driveway and up and down, up and down the little ramp he's built.

I am remembering...   our first house.  Three boys in a bedroom that was 9'4" x 9'8".  No kidding.

From the learning rooms...   not much going on this week.  Just testing and some history - the '49ers.  Enjoying the bare walls and general tidiness :D

From the kitchen...  lots of weekend leftovers to enjoy tonight.

Around the house...  stacks of library books about China, the '49ers, New Zealand and the Waitangi Treaty, nerf darts from a big battle this morning, wet shoes drying from yesterday's walk in the rain, plastic soldiers, to-do lists, and Gramma Grasshopper just dropped by with candy bars for the boys, because it's testing week!

On my mind...   turning over and over and over the different possibilities for some special Christmas fabric I have, waiting to be cut and sewn.

Noticing that...  when I think I have a great idea at 1am... it's usually not looking so great the next morning.  I'm such a genius.  *sigh*

Pondering these words...   "Believe boldly", from yesterday's sermon, thinking of Bartimaeus.  (spelling?)

One of my favorite things...   cookie dough.  Oh yeah.

Here is a picture I am sharing...

Well!  I guess they got everyone in the picture!

P.S.  Not my kids.  Not my duct tape.

Oh, goodness- thanks for the laugh with that picture! Haha!

I love summer- the relaxed days and the sounds of play- I am still working on the "tidy!" Sigh...

I'm SO PROUD of you ALL, boys and TEACHER/MOM, for another successful year of homeschooling. The boys needed (according to Gramma) a reward - and Mom, I pray you are realizing your 'reward' just loking at your boys. I'm also very PROUD of my other daughter for another successful year of teaching high schoolers - Bless all the Christian teachers out there....we NEED YOU.

Yum! Cookie dough! I howled with laughter when I saw that photo the other night. We do family portraits just like that ;o)!

Enjoy your week!

Blessings!

Oh.my.word. the picture. the duct tape. Do you KNOW those people?? =)

I've forgotten everything else about your daybook after looking at that. hahaha

Except it's testing week, and I'm not sure what sort of testing your boys must endure. Hope it all goes well ~ and they enjoy their candy bars!

Loved your daybook - I wish I could quilt, but there's no need for me to look at quilt patterns! Although, I did enjoy looking through some really old examples at the Ozark Folk center last week!
Have a great week!

Brilliant photo! I hope all the testing goes well, and that nobody gets too stressed about it. Do you test them yourself?
It sounds so good to be winding down for summer - mmm!
