Homeschool Style

Labor Day has passed and we're all in back-to-school mode.  Sharpening our pencils, sporting new tennis shoes, and smelling the crayons.

And talking about what we're doing.  And how we're doing it.

*sigh*

Well, let me just tell you that today was not a bed of roses, my friends.  Not. At. All.

And browsing around the homeschool blogs reading bubbly posts about darling little rosy-cheeked cherubs who just can't wait to learn Latin, or memorize the Constitution, or whatever, is just a wee bit depressing right now.

So let me just welcome you to my own, personal homeschool-mom-blog Q&A of the day:

What is your homeschool style?

Are you ready?  Wait for it...

Salute, and execute.

Subject to change when your behavior and my mood improves.

That will be all.

mmm-hmmm ~ Salute & Execute
(yours is not to reason why...)
Because I'm the MOM, remember?!

So, are you ALL still feeling full of crud? Too many donuts yesterday? :o

What exactly are they grumbling about doing? Could it be grammar?? ;-)

Today is going better... so far :o)

Yesterday's troubles were more to do with expectations and attitudes than academics.

The weather didn't cooperate for a trip to the lake, and some of our friends (invited to the party) were delayed. And my boys - one in particular - didn't handle it well. Downright rude and obnoxious.

He and his dad and I had a little conference last night and explained the dire, dire consequences that will ensue if things don't change immediately and dramatically.

I think we made some progress.
