No hurry today. We woke to rain on the roof of our cabin. Sounds like home ;D
If we wanted to get right home, we'd just shoot on up I-5, but we had a couple objectives yet, so instead we pointed the van northwest and headed over the hills toward the coast.
Lots of little towns. This one had a great deal of confidence in itself.
What do you do when you're on a road trip and you see a sign like this? Turn in, of course.
And plunk down your five bucks....
... to drive through a tree. Why not?
And you take a good, long look up.
Yes, the photos overlap and I didn't try to "correct" them. But it was tall. Really tall. More of that tomorrow.
We got a hotel for the night in Eureka, and Kerry couldn't pass up the chance to see the Carson House.
Interesting details. Can you imagine trying to paint all that?
Ahhhh, good night moon, and good bye palm trees.

or carving all that before you could paint it?? Impressive.
That house is beautiful! The thought of painting it makes me exhausted!
Blessings!

This makes me a little homesick - I really am a California girl! The redwoods are amazing - Matt went camping with his grandparents while we were at John Tracy in 2010, and he got to see the Sequoias. I don't think he remembers it, though (he was only four at the time - crazy to think that Nolan is that age now)!
