I had my birthday last month, in the middle of a very hectic and stressful time.Several friends and relatives sent me warm, thoughtful, and encouraging cards. But apparently not all the synapses were firing when I read them.
So, I had to laugh when I got a lovely card from a friend who always sends well-chosen greetings, and what I thought I read was, "If birthdays were daisies, you'd have a whole field."
Somehow I missed the word "wishes"... "If birthday WISHES were daisies..."
Gee, 42 isn't THAT old, is it?
