Believe It

Yep. That's Gunnar, driving the riding mower. By. Him. Self.

What you can't see... is what he's sitting on.

Not only is he really too short to reach the pedals comfortably, he's just too light to make the tractor go. There's apparently a safety mechanism, which requires a certain amount of weight to be applied to the seat for the mower to move forward. (You know, so if 97 year old Uncle Buford falls off the tractor, the thing will stop. Possibly also so that 7 year old boys can't take the tractor for a joy ride... Possibly.)

Grandpa solved the both problems by bringing a 25# weight from the weight bench and using it as a little "booster".

Go, Gunnar, go!

Gotta love grandparents! They always let you do cool things!

If it makes you feel better, I am 150 pounds and I have to concentrate and sit just right to keep enough weight in the seat on those things.

He sure looks like he is having a ball!

Hahaha!

Grandpa let all the boys drive, but only without the blades going.

I think getting "driving lessons" is the highlight of the week!

I'm thinking we gotta start having PTO days. Only problem is, my parents like coming out here since they then have an acre and a half to roam on.

Maybe I should throw a weight on our lawn tractor. That safety mechanism can be a pain in the butt ( haha no pun intended)!

It's so awesome that your boys can enjoy special time with their grandparents!
